No issues! Timely and effective!

Love this location and staff! There are people in this world that need help and support, and this store provides great prices for those like myself as a single mom with a very low income.

I have also sold items in exchange for cash or store credit. Pricing was reasonable and very quick and effective.

I had called ahead of time to inform them what I was bringing in an extremely big dollhouse to make sure they accept dollhouses of this size. To which Inwas rold "YES" as long as all the pieces are with it.

Now mind you that this dollhouse is over 5ft tall and absolutely stunning in every way... it is brand spanking new and has all the furniture as well...it literally has not one

scratch on it.. had to have someone w a truck help me load it and it was not an easy move to get it there which I never would have done except I saw on the Once Upon a Child's website from a different location that the same exact dollhouse was being sold for a $100 dollars(the same exact one) except mine was new w all the pieces and that one was obviously used...they offered me $30 dollars for that dollhouse...$30 dollars...now while it's not about the money it also is a point where I would be an idiot and was insulted at that offer. That is a highly sought after dollhouse that is sold out everywhere online and out of stock and retails for well over $350 and u have one in another store that is all beat up and missing furniture and have a sricker price for 100 bucks on it...nnnaaahhhh...this place is a joke ...

and it's a shame bc it is an absolutely beautiful dollhouse that someone wld have scooped up in a second for their child at less than half the price...

$30 bucks is an absolute spit in the face and whatever system they use shkd be the same in every store bc $30 bucks for the same BRAND NEW dollhouse and $100 bucks for that exact dollhouse in another once upon a child in a used condition makes no sense to me...oh and a little side note for buyers..they are selling designer named clothes and shoes at this location like (Burberry, and Gucci) etc... for alot of money making people think their buying name brand designer items for cheap but THEY ARE NOT REAL DESIGNER ITEMS...they are 99% replica and that's messed up...check ur seigner items before oaying that price bc they are more than likely fake

You took a used item to them. You did not get what you expected. If you had to pay employees and rent you would of only given 30 to 40 dollars for you item.

Guest

If it is such an in demand item, you should have no problem selling it yourself.

Answering phone unprofessional

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I called Once Upon A Child on 86th & Michigan in Indianapolis, IN. When the phone was answered, I couldn't hear the person at all; the voice was extremely low.

So, I'm guessing her attitude stemmed from me not being able to hear, which I stated. However, she began to be even ruder, and I continued to explain that I was only calling to inquire about their hours. I didn't understand what the problem was; it seemed as if she had an attitude. She then hung up on me!

I called back multiple times, even from a different number, hoping to speak to management. I didn't understand why I...

I took in 2 pair of Nike shoes, 1 pair of Jordan shoes, 4 school uniform tops, 1 school uniform dress, a brand new soccer ball never open, and a brand new book bag and they offered me $36 and some change. It was an insult.

I refused the offer and packed my stuff up. Its no way it wasnt even $50. I dont see how they can low ball people. All of my shoes and clothes were in good condition.

Its not worth the time and definitely not the money. Dont be afraid to refuse the offer.

I would rather donate or give it to someone who can use it. A word to the company consider giving more money for the donations.

Bad customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Yesterday dropped off some items. Apparently I didnt know.

I was supposed to go back to same day to get my offer went back today and they would not give me cash for my offers. They already donated my stuff and said I had to do an in-store credit no exceptions were made, when I signed yesterday, I had no idea that I was signing something stating that you had to come the same day or you would not get cash back for your items. it was very busy when I dropped off my items. The lady said just give me your license put it in the slot and sign there and put when do you want to get a phone call or text before the store closed so they text me and did not get there the same day so lost out on my cash and they got my items and I have the store credit.

Ill never use because I dont have a little ones. It was very busy when I dropped off the items yesterday so I was in a hurry and the two workers were in a hurry.

didnt read anything I signed , so I guess its lesson learned I lost out on both end. There was no exceptions never again.

Smart people read before they sign off on something. This is totally your fault. Donate the store credit to someone with small kids who needs help.

Fishy transactions, should have known better

Dixie Hwy location allowed someone to bring over 100 pair of shoes, sneakers etc. clothes, in two transactions in last 2 weeks, so-called all items sold all items stolen, theft ring who is known for stealing from storage units.

Informed one of the workers to not tag any more items from the individual that brought in the items because i was coming with police, item tagged and in the window. Inside job & collaboration.

Someone's child or adult is walking around in stolen merchandise. Now My children have nothing!

Selling items to once upon a child

I would also like to know how they price and how they decide what to buy and why they split up outfits seems very odd to me i also dont think they should have young girls deciding on what they buy or not and who made the computer program that decides how much each item is that your gonna buy. Overall i am not very satisfied with the way the business is ran

RIP off when reselling

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I brought in a bunch of newborn tshirts and pajamas that I had purchased at the store. Most of it was unused after purchase, especially the onesies.

After I left the bag for resale they returned the bag with most of the clothes back to me saying gently used or stained which was not the case. It was what I initially purchased from them so now they won't take them back. We rechecked the clothing that came back to me. No stains, no rips.

I don't know what they were looking at but they wouldn't take back what they originally sold me. I should have left the tag on.

Bad business

why complaint is that once upon a Child in Monroeville do not pay fairly and also have favoritism you could purchase stuff from the store, bring the exact stuff back to the store couple days later, and they give you hardly nothing for the stuff they charged you, an arm, and a leg for i believe corporate needs to look at the store where as customers make the store I have been shopping at once upon a child for over six years and so I do not like bringing my clothing here for them to sell. Its a ripoff.

I took in exactly 32 pair of shoes and got $60. I did not have enough strength to speak my mind like I would have but I was under the weather. I am so done with want to call a Child in monroeville. I took a Nikes Michael Kors in the boxes at that and they had me a lousy $60 what a slap in the face I hope it gets close down or in the hands of fear cells people and they have the nerve to rack up the prices after they take your stuff and try to give you pennies for it and sell it high very high corporate.

Where are you? This is the store that needs to be locked up.

No one forced you to sell them 32 pairs of shoes for$60. As far as anything else they buy then sell, that is all them.

They are a business and have costs to pay. Nothing is stopping you from trying to sell your products at similar prices.

I agree with the commenter. You have the obligation to not accept the offer or sell yourself first.

Alot of people do this to give others a chance to own great things at a cheaper cost.

There is no way the business would stand if they paid you what you bought it for. Frankly alot of folks swear their stuff is new and it's not.

Once Upon A Child - Complaint on manager

I try to sell some item that were new and the girls here were just making comments on certain items theyre like were not gonna take those items so when I asked them for a service, if someone were to speak Spanish, whoever talk to me in Spanish they were like oh I prefer to speak English and I was just trying to explain them like theres certain items that are brand new they dont have nothing wrong I just was wondering why they took 40 minutes to take three items of the 11 items I bring over and they were like not giving me a reason and just laughing and being rude about it and I was trying to talk in Spanish because I see the girl speak in Spanish and they were like we prefer to speak English, which is not mandatory for me to speak in English to them, so I did try to ask them like why they dont take some items and they didnt give me a reason there where just laughing and ignoring me, the fact that the didnt even look at the other items and make me wait 40 mints for just take 4 items it was way to much plus I was with my 2 children and they were extremely rude

Terrible service on more than one occasion- Sandusky Ohio store

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I visited Once Upon a Child in Sandusky a handful of times recently (within the past 6 months) to sell some new and gently worn girls clothing my daughter had outgrown/never worn. I was treated extremely rudely on all but the first visit.

The staff there is highly unprofessional and dismissive when refusing to actually DOtheir job and go through the clothing to see what they would like to purchase from the clothing. After being told it needed to be brought in in cardboard boxes or totes, I went and purchased some new boxes and transferred the clothing to it, to then be told that they only accept items in totes they will refuse incoming items MANY hours before closing time because they are supposedly too busy . I have been turned away more than once and told to return another day, wasted more gas, waited around the area for HOURS waiting for them to call and say they are finished, only to return and realize they hadnt even moved one outfit! They complained of nonexistent stains and a strong basement odor mind you I had just washed all of the clothing, removed any items with stains before going, and also sprayed them with febreeze just for good measure, even though they had NEVER been in a basement or anywhere else that had an unpleasant odor, for that matter.

I dont smoke, nothing. The employees lie and are rude and dismissive on nearly every occasion. Even another store location had poor service and forgot to call to tell me they were finished, so I had wasted approximately 3-4 hours near Cleveland killing time waiting for them to call, only to eventually call myself and be told they had finished many hours ago and just hadnt called to let me know (oops!) I am not certain if they treat others this way, but I assume so since they should not have anything against me personally, as I was polite and respectful to staff. Extremely pissed off on numerous occasions by the Sandusky Ohio branch employees.

They should not have jobs where they have contact with customers because they are extremely rude and not personable or polite . They need to be trained on customer service and get some serious attitude adjustments!

Terrible Customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The girls that work in this store are extremely rude and unpleasant to deal with. Every time I bring in clothes there is a new bin rule.

I get a lecture every time I bring in something. Girls who are working with children and mothers should have better social skills than these girls. Remember you wouldn't have a job without the clothes coming in.

I hate bringing in clothes just because of the rudeness! The management should care more about who they hire.
